HOPE....

Bern gets up earlier than I do, so she knew about election results when I woke up.

"Hope," she told me, "I have hope I haven't had for a long time."

Yesterday's results were 'hopeful' in many ways.

But all the problems aren't resolved.

Next year Democrats need to take back the House and Senate.

Then we can get to work on all the 'problems' the current President and his minions have created.

So, it's not time to sit back and be happy.

Lots of work still to be done.

May God bless our nation and may that work be done....

Voting Day

I voted today. Hope you did too.

Just local elections here in Cheshire.

The TV channels started covering it hours before any polls closed! Lots of talk, no results.

One big thing on MSNBC, my news of choice, was how much was the elections about Trump.

He distorted the truth 18 times on 60 Minutes Sunday.

He seems to have trouble remembering things.

I do to, but I'm not President.

His health is in question.

How much does liking or disliking him affect voters.

We shall see.

My not-so-smart phone

 '

Bern (and most people) can get almost anything on their smart phone.

I avoid the internet by in large, but if it were on my phone I couldn't.

I can call and be called on my phone.

You can't leave a message, so if you call me you have to hope I press "notifications", see your number and call you back.

Which I don't, most of the time.

A 'not-so-smart' phone is right up my communications alley.

D**N THOSE DODGERS!!!

Excuse my language but I am just so upset that the Dodgers won the World Series.

I'm a Yankee fan--have been my whole life. My Dad was in NYC, about to ship out to WW II, when some kind soul gave him and some of his friends tickets to a Yankee/Dodger World Series game. Dad decided whichever team won would be 'his team'.

The Yankees won.

So, I root for the American League team. I got to really like the Blue Jays--though I never watched a whole WS game (on too late). Plus I love the Canadian National Anthem....

The Dodgers spent a small fortune building their team and the Blue Jays were not even supposed to have made it to the WS.

When I went to bed the Blue Jays were ahead 3-0, so I slept well.

But when I woke up to the score....D**N THOSE DODGERS!!!

Swimming against the tide

Tuesday is election day.

I'll vote at Town Hall and straight Democrat.

I don't think my father ever voted for a Democrat.

And I've never voted for a Republican.

Swimming against the tide.

One of the people on the ballot is named Bradley. I doubt that she's related to me but I'd like to meet her and see.

Many pundits are thinking it will be a good off-year for Democrats.

That's swimming against the tide of DJT.

I hope we do it--it's vital for us to do it....

Long time off

I didn't have Bible Study Wednesday and I'm off from church this Sunday. That's nine days off!

I know I'm retired (my pension check came today) and only work on Sundays and Wednesdays, but 9 days seems like a long time off.

Not that I'm complaining. I have lots of stuff to do around Cheshire.

I'll go to Trinity on November 5 for Bible Study.

Truth is, I miss the people of Trinity. I like them a lot....

a waking nightmare

I woke up from a restful sleep into a nightmare.

The nightmare has a name--Donald J.

Not only is he wandering around Asia making fo-pas left and right, he's torn down the East Wing of the White House and is trying in many ways to tear down our democratic republic.

Lots of attention has been made by the reliable media that his mental skills are slipping.

What's not slipping is his commitment to do harm to any and all opponents.

It would be laughable if it weren't so terrible.

We have to stand up and speak out for what is right.

I only hope enough people will.

His poll numbers are encouraging that hope....
