Today's sermon

Today's the Feast of Christ the King.

So, just before Advent and waiting for Jesus' birth, we are taken to the place of the Skull for his crucifixion.

Seems strange at first--until we realize he was born to die for the sins of others.

But the juxtaposition is interesting. Watching Jesus die just before waiting for his birth....

It's all one story--virgin birth to crucifixion to resurrection.

All one story to ponder in our hearts as we sake to be Jesus people in our world and our time.

Sleeping in...

If I want to be awake before 8 a.m.--which I do to go to church on Sundays--Bern has to wake me.

I love to sleep.

But today I slept until 9:45! I mean, really. I was asleep by 10 or so last night so that's almost 12 hours!

Maybe I sleep to avoid being awake in this country run into the ground by DJT. That's a possibility.

But I wake up, no matter how late, and he's still there....

Sleeping that late throws off meal times. I usually eat Cherrios and some yogart with fruit around 9. Today it was closer to 11.

Oh my, sleeping in causes problems....

It's been that long?

I clicked on the blog to write something and was shocked that I hadn't written since Monday!

 Sorry, my bad.

Our President is saying 6 Democrats in Congress should be tried for 'sedition', which is punishable by death.

All they did was repeat what is in the Constitution and the military manuals that members of the armed forces should not obey an order that is un-constitutional.

This is all about Trump's blowing up ships and killing people who he claims (with no evidence provided!) are smuggling drugs into the US.

When a press secretary has to answer the question: "does the president want to execute members of Congress?"--we are in uncharted territory.

Also, a member of the House is going to introduce an impeachment resolution against the President.

What a country we are trying to live in.....

Monday 'news'?

My sermon yesterday was about how we should 'hear, read, mark and inwardly digest' holy scripture.

The same is true for 'news'.

I'm hearing that the Epstein files are going to be released with the president's blessing.

I have to hear that more and read about it before I can 'mark and inwardly digest' it.

If it's true, we have lots to learn if the files haven't have names redacted and removed.

We shall see.

And we shall have a lot of inquiry into 'inwardly digesting' whatever we hear, read and mark....

DJT VS. MTG

One thing I like more than a Democrat speaking up and moving things back toward normal is a feud among Republicans.

And the president and Rep. Marjory Taylor Green are doing that in front of the world and with no holds barred!

Green is against higher prices and in favor of releasing the Epstein files.

Trump caused the higher prices and has refused to release the files.

What a battle they are in, these once close-knit allies!

The president even called her 'Marjory Taylor BROWN' since green grass turns brown when it dies.

Go at it bare-fisted guy and gal!

You make my day....

Week ending

This week flew by.

I've neglected my blog and other things.

Deep Friday Breath....Calm down.

Two visits to Physical Therapy wore me out Monday and Today.

I think I can see some improvement...maybe.

Wrote my sermon today so I should be able to relax Saturday.

I hope so.

Slowing down is always good.

Really.

Try it sometime....

Getting Lost

I went to the dentist today who is going to give me a permanent implant tooth in front.

But I had never been there before and had the wrong address somehow.

So, I got lost.

It was a nagging and painful feeling to be lost.

But they called me on my cell and told me where they were.

I was on the street in front of their building!

Being 'found' is a great feeling--even when going to a dentist!

"Lostness" is a big problem today. I don't just mean spiritually--which is important--but politically and culturally and economically as well.

We all are lost from time to time--until someone finds us and brings us back on track.

We must seek to do that for others that are lost in all the ways 'lost' can mean.

Find someone who is lost and help them today.
