The Day After

It's very quiet at about 1 p.m.

John went home yesterday and Mimi/Tim/Eleanor this morning.

Bern and I are pretty quiet--quieter than an 8 year old, for sure!

Brigit is calm. She is on high alert when that many people are around--more people to accidentally drop some food on the floor....

Besides, in the TV room she was sharing the couch with more than Bern, often two others, so she felt crowded, I'm sure.

It was great to have them and the meal was amazing with four kinds of pie.

We love them so.

But it's back to normal now.

Very quiet, for starters....

The Day Before

It's afternoon on the day before Thanksgiving.

Mimi, Tim and Eleanor will be here by 3 or 4.

Someone will go pickup John tomorrow from his apartment.

And we will give thanks and eat....

I love the day before.

Lots of stuff cooking.

Pies aplenty.

Joy coming.

What's not to like about the day before?

Falling down the stairs....

Every time the president exits his airplane, everyone watching is holding his or her breath. He might fall at any time.

This week is beginning to look like a fall down stairs for DJT.

A judge dismissed the president's cases against James Comey and Letitia James because the prosecutor was unconstitutionally appointed!

Marjory Taylor Greene divorced herself from Trump's stances and is resigning from the House.

Democrats might take back the house even before the mid-term elections.

The President has lost his lead with Hispanic voters--as well he should.

MAGA folks around the country are joining the majority in opposing high costs and federal troops in our streets.

Watch your step, Donald, the stairs are slippery....

Today's sermon

Today's the Feast of Christ the King.

So, just before Advent and waiting for Jesus' birth, we are taken to the place of the Skull for his crucifixion.

Seems strange at first--until we realize he was born to die for the sins of others.

But the juxtaposition is interesting. Watching Jesus die just before waiting for his birth....

It's all one story--virgin birth to crucifixion to resurrection.

All one story to ponder in our hearts as we sake to be Jesus people in our world and our time.

Sleeping in...

If I want to be awake before 8 a.m.--which I do to go to church on Sundays--Bern has to wake me.

I love to sleep.

But today I slept until 9:45! I mean, really. I was asleep by 10 or so last night so that's almost 12 hours!

Maybe I sleep to avoid being awake in this country run into the ground by DJT. That's a possibility.

But I wake up, no matter how late, and he's still there....

Sleeping that late throws off meal times. I usually eat Cherrios and some yogart with fruit around 9. Today it was closer to 11.

Oh my, sleeping in causes problems....

It's been that long?

I clicked on the blog to write something and was shocked that I hadn't written since Monday!

 Sorry, my bad.

Our President is saying 6 Democrats in Congress should be tried for 'sedition', which is punishable by death.

All they did was repeat what is in the Constitution and the military manuals that members of the armed forces should not obey an order that is un-constitutional.

This is all about Trump's blowing up ships and killing people who he claims (with no evidence provided!) are smuggling drugs into the US.

When a press secretary has to answer the question: "does the president want to execute members of Congress?"--we are in uncharted territory.

Also, a member of the House is going to introduce an impeachment resolution against the President.

What a country we are trying to live in.....

Monday 'news'?

My sermon yesterday was about how we should 'hear, read, mark and inwardly digest' holy scripture.

The same is true for 'news'.

I'm hearing that the Epstein files are going to be released with the president's blessing.

I have to hear that more and read about it before I can 'mark and inwardly digest' it.

If it's true, we have lots to learn if the files haven't have names redacted and removed.

We shall see.

And we shall have a lot of inquiry into 'inwardly digesting' whatever we hear, read and mark....
