dithyramb

 That's actually a word.

"Dithyramb" means 'a wild hymn to the god/godess of wine'.

I sent it as a joke to some folks from the church I serve.

I included the musician.

I thought I'd ask him for a 'wild hymn' for next Sunday.

Dumb thing I do.

I do do dumb things.

Alas and alack.

Betwixth and between.

Yea and Nay.

Stuff like that.

Sing a dithyramb and have a glass of wine....

I hate A.I.!

Everything I hear about Artificial Intellegence makes me a little crazy.

It seems to be creeping into our lives in ways we don't even know.

For all you know A.I. could be writing this blog!

Not beyond it's capability.

That's the problem--nothing seems beyond it's capability.

We should all be worried.

I'm starting the SHUT DOWN A.I. movement.

Want to join.

I hate A.I.!

Totally.

What's wrong with Human Intellegence?

Except that H.I. created A.I.

God help us!

Really.....

Could we be so lucky?

Much is being made of our President's health--physical and mental.

Some are suggesting he could be removed from office under the Constitution.

I hesitate to wish illness on anyone--but I wouldn't want him to die, just get so sick he had to go to some expensive nursing home in Florida and live to hear all about what people have to say about his time in office.

That's mean, I know. But being a little mean doesn't ruin our democracy--he might!

Just wishin' and hopin'....

ticking off the days....

 Two mistakes today.

First, I left the freezer open after getting ice for my coffee in the morning.

Now there is a note on the freezer warning me to make sure it's shut.

Then, Bern talked about putting the air conditioner in our bedroom and I told her I'd help.

She then detailed how I not only couldn't help, I'd get in her way.

Guess she told me.

Sometimes I feel like I'm ticking off the days until I go to the old folks home.

Some days I'm fine.

Others I'm not.

I still go to the store and fix dinner twice a week.

Two out of seven isn't an MVP average.

Tick...tick...tick....

Warm Monday

I woke up at 6:30 am, really early for me. I finished a novel I was reading in bed and tried to go back to sleep and couldn't.

Monday turned out to be warm. It's 80 or so. Tomorrow is supposed to get to 90.

I complain so much about the cold that I know better to complain about heat--you can't have it both ways is what I think.

So, if it were 130 degrees in the shade I wouldn't complain out loud.

Truth is, I'd like it to be 65-70 year round!

Bern thought the Library was going to be closed for a week so I went and checked out so many books I could hardly carry them.

But when I asked a librarian she told me they were changing out the computers and you'd have to check out books the old fashion way rather than on one of the machines.

Well, I have enough to read for a while.

Reading takes up most of my time--besides playing Hearts on-line.

I don't watch TV until 7 pm weekdays for Jepordy (however it's spelled!) I watch a bit of news but our President (it shouldn't be a capital 'P' for him) ruins that most days.

So, welcome Monday! Glad to be around for you....

Church today

 It all went well.

Great hymns, open front door, good readers, wondrous coffee hour (the strawberry desert was great!)

I even got away with my sermon.

But I looked around at the crowd and only saw 5  people who I think are younger than me.

I pass a Evangelical church called Cornerstone in Cheshire on my way to I 84. They have four services and a huge parking lot. On the way up they're having their first service and the lot is packed. On my way back the third service is ending and two policeman are there to clear the lot.

What are they serving up?

I should go and talk to them and see what I can discern.

(I may have posted about Cornerstone Church before--I'm a bit obcessed by their crowds.)

Bet they don't have Eucharist....

Best Dog Ever

I don't remember her name when we got her from the rescue group, but she showed fear when we said it, so we called her BRIGIT.

And she is the best dog ever!

Well, except when she barks....

She didn't bark for a couple of years, but she must have 'felt at home' and started barking.

Barking to let us know someone is on our porch is not the problem.

The problem is, we eat dinner in the TV room, She gets a little from Bern's plate but since Bern eats faster than I do, when I finish she starts barking, wanting scraps.

I figured out a solution and it's worked so far.

Bern gets up to leave and I get up as well. I walk to the door to the hallway and either give Bern my plate or carry it down.

Brigit doesn't bark, but follows us and gets a treat from my plate while we're cleaning up the kitchen.

Seems to work.

And restores her 'best dog ever' title....
